As the weather starts warming up, there's nothing like a cookie ice cream sandwich for a refreshing treat! If you're looking to ditch the long list of questionable ingredients found in most store-bought ice cream sandwiches, you're in luck. It's simple to make your own healthier version using real, whole foods - and they're easily customizable. So grab the blender and let's make some Ona Cookie "Nicecream" Sandwiches!
Ona Cookies of choice (get creative by trying different combos!)
4 medium bananas, peeled, broken into chunks, then frozen OR if you prefer a less sweet ice cream, sub 1-2 of the bananas for steamed then frozen cauliflower (you won't taste it!)
1/4 cup milk of your choice
2 tsp vanilla
Optional: Any add-ins you'd like! Cacao powder, chopped nuts, nut butter, 1 cup berries (just reduce milk to about 2 tbsp), etc.
Place all ingredients besides Ona Cookies in a high-powered blender and blend until smooth. (If using nuts or cacao nibs, you may want to just stir them in at the end rather than blending.)
Pour the "smoothie" mixture into a container with an airtight lid and place in the freezer for 4+ hours or until it reaches your desired consistency.
To serve, scoop the nicecream out of the container and onto an Ona Cookie. Top it off with another cookie and enjoy!
